Now that we’ve gone over some of the Vera Wang perfumes that we consider to be the best ones available, we would like to talk some more about the history of the company and some of the other fine fragrances they’ve produced over the years. With that being stated, let’s get started and dig right into the material in hand.
The History Of Vera Wang
Before we can embrace the history of this company, we first have to embrace the history of the woman who started it all—Vera Wang. Vera-Ellen Wang was born in New York City on July 27, 1949. Born to affluent Chinese immigrants, she enjoyed a privileged existence and attended both the Chapin School and the School Of American Ballet. She also competed as a professional figure skater during her teens.
After obtaining her art degree, Vera began working for Vogue and by the age of 23 became a senior fashion editor—a position she would hold for 15-years. Eventually, she would leave Vogue to become a design director at Ralph Lauren in 1987.
After sketching and commissioning her wedding dress, she opened up her bridal boutique on Madison Avenue in New York. Over the years, she would hone her fashion design skills until she was able to launch her own sophisticated bridal wear line.
She continued designed wedding dresses and other fashion accessories, and eventually in 2001, she launched her fragrance line. The first fragrance to be released was Vera Wang, and over the next several years she would eventually release 29 different fragrances. Many of her fragrances are wedding themes, including perfumes such as Bouquet and Sheer Veil.
